Notes - SCHMIDT, Reta Passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Grand River Hospital, K-W Health Centre, Kitchener. Reta resided in Kitchener and was formerly of R.R. # 1 Milverton. She was born 73 years ago in South Easthope Township and was the daughter of the late Noah and Lena (Zehr) Yantzi. Beloved wife of William Schmidt whom she married June 6, 1959. Lovingly missed by her sisters and brothers Sabina and husband Jack Randall of Cambridge, Sylvester and wife Betty Yantzi of Allenford, Elwood and wife Nancy Yantzi of Kitchener, Erna Flatt of Cambridge, twin sister Freda and husband Harold Schwartzentruber of Stratford, Marlene and husband Roy Ziegler of R.R. # 1 St. Agatha, and sisters-in-law Dorothy Yantzi of Tavistock and Ruth Yantzi of New Hamburg. Remembered by a number of Schmidt sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Reta was predeceased by brothers Laverne Yantzi, Ernest Yantzi, Wayne Yantzi, sister Laurene and husband Vernon Bender and brother-in-law William Flatt. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Patricia Jackson officiating. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.
