- ZEHR, Norman On Thursday, Aug. 20, 1992, after failing health for several years, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Norman Zehr, of Gads Hill and formerly of Topping.
Norman was born in North Easthope township 76 years ago, a son of the late Daniel B. Zehr and the late Magdalena Schultz. He had farmed at Topping retiring in 1977. He also operated Nored Rabbitry until his retirement. Norman was a very active member of the Poole Mennonite Church serving as Sunday school superintendent and also taught Sunday school as long as his health permitted. He was also chair man of the Poole Mennonite Church Building Board.
Lovingly remembered by his wife, the former Edna Lebold, whom he married March 2, 1939. Dear father of Gordon and his wife Vivian Zehr of RR 1, Stratford, Ronald and his wife Betty Zehr of Shakespeare, Helen and her husband Ken Boshart of New Hamburg; father-in-law of Janet (Mrs. Wayne Schultz) of Tavistock; dear brother of Ervin Zehr of Tavistock and Emmanuel and his wife Clara Zehr of RR 1, Milverton. Cherished grandpa of 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, Lloyd D. Zehr (September 29, 1982); one daughter in infancy; two sisters, Verdella and her husband Clarence Les and Idella and her husband Dan Gerber and one granddaughter, Penny.
Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive friends tonight (Saturday) from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Monday, Aug. 24, removal will be made to Poole Mennonite Church for the service at 2 p.m. Pastor David Rogalsky will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cernetery.
