From "The 100th Anniversary St. John's Evanhelical Church 1837-1937.

      Lutheran

      p. 9 re Rev. F. W. Bindemann

Rev, John H. Bernheim, (1st. Lutheran pastor) .

"I cannot pass unnoticed, however, that a certain Klinkhardt, who practises as Doctor of Medicine, is a faithful and active aid of Mr. Bindemann - both spread Universalism and Rationalism whenever they have an opportunity.

On the 5th I went to Preston

On my return home Dr. Klinckhardt addressed me on the street, ten or twelve persons gathered around us, and a controversy ensued again, in which one sided in defence of the Christian party, the rest manifesting through laughter and approbation of what spirit they were. Henceforth I sought to avoid every meeting with this man, that I might not cast pearls before the swine.

In November 1865 a woman wrote a letter to the Berliner Journal thanking him for relieving her of a tapeworm. The next week her husband wrote an even more fervent letter in his praise.

His death from tuberculosis took place after an illness of three years. He was survived by his widow.
