Notes |
- Douglas McNally 1922 - 2006 Passed away quietly in his sleep, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on September 15, 2006 in his 85th year. Doug devoted his life to the outdoors on his Tree Farm off Wideman Road, near Erbsville. Doug's passion for the environment inspired him to generously offer his greenbelt, known as the McNally Lands to the City of Waterloo, to be enjoyed by future generations. Doug was an environmentalist long before it was fashionable and remained true to his convictions throughout his entire life. Doug was predeceased by his parents, Dr. H. J. McNally and Christine McNally (nee: Box), and his sister Janet Brickman. Doug is survived by his nephew Jim Brickman, his wife Lesley, and their daughters Janet and Jamie all of Waterloo. A graveside service will be held at Woodland Cemetery, 119 Arlington Blvd. , Kitchener on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 11:30 am. Condolences for the family and donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, 519. 745. 8445 or www. erbgood.com In living memory of Doug, a tree will be planted through the Trees for Learning program by the funeral home.
