Notes |
- MCTAGGART, GEORGE DUNCAN was born in Florence, Ontario, on August 15. 1886. He was a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, class of 1915. and interned at the Hamilton General Hospital. He served in the Royal Canadian Medical Corps in the First War.
He is listed in Mount Hope in the 1922 Ontario Medical Directory, but was in Kitchener by 1924. He had a family practice for thirty four years at 627 King St. E. For thirty years he was surgeon for the county jail.
He belonged to a number of fraternal organizations, and he continued his connection with the military through the 12th. Medical Company, R. C. A. M. C. He served his turn on the executive of the North Waterloo Medical Society. It was as Secretary of the Medical Society that the minutes he kept revealed a witty sense of humor which was not readily apparent in his quiet unassuming manner.
He kept up with the medical literature as it affected his practice, and constantly introduced various new techniques to improve the quality of his professional care.
He died on September 3, 1958, was predeceased by his wife, and was survived by two sons.
