MEDICAL PRACTITIONER GEORGE PATON M. D.
Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and Licentiate of the Apothecaries Hall, London:- Author of a Treatise on the Functions of the Spinal Cord, and an Essay on the nature and treatment of spinal affections.
Office King Street, next door to the Queen's Arms Hotel.
Berlin, Jan. 9. 1857
On June 3rd. his card in the Dumfries Reformer said his office was opposite the Commercial Bank, North Water St., Galt.
The Berlin Chronicle on March 11, 1857 reported his address before the Mechanics Institute, in which he said:
"We must no longer rest satisfied, if we wish to arrive at distinction, with 'Imported Intellect, we must have it of native growth, nurtured, matured and brought to perfection within the precincts of our own soil."
His article in The Canada Medical Journal of August, 1864, was from Bowmanville.
The Ontario Medical Register, 1870, listed him in Brucefield, and gave his degrees as: Lic. R C S Edinb. . 35, Lic. Lon Soc Apoth . 49, M. D. Univer. Jena . 40.
He appears to have been a roamer and hence difficult to track down.
