- PATTERSON, BRADFORD his card ran in the Berlin Telegraph from November 1 to December 20, 1861. He was a graduate of the Central Medical College, Rochester, N. Y., in 1852, and of the American Medical College, Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1855. He appears to have come here from Bowmanville, but there does not seem to be any record of times spent in various locations.
B. Patterson M. D. (Late of Bowmanville and Whitby) would most respectfully;, announce to the citizens of Berlin and surrounding country that he is now prepared to treat all diseases incidental to the human system, Acute or Chronic, and performs' operations on the Eye and Ear with great success. CANCERS and Tumors taken out and cured without the use of the knife.
He will attend to calls either in Town or Country. The most respectable references can be given and any number of them.

Office, in the premises formerly occupied by Dr. Mylius, next door to Boecker & Stuebing Bookstore, King Street. Will be openrd on or before the 7th November. All medicines used by Dr. P. are selected from the Vegetable kingdom, and leaves no deleterious effects on the constitution.
The same issue of the newspaper commented:
It will be noticed by advertisement that Dr. Patterson late of Bowmanville and Whitby, purposes shortly to take up his residence in Berlin for the practice of his profession.
Dr. Patterson has shown us testimonials from several very respectable parties, speaking in the highest terms of his skill as a physician and surgeon. The certificates of patients who were successfully treated by him, are of the most flattering nature, and such as to commend him to the confidence of the public.
His obituary was in the Canadian Medical Association Journal in December 1914:.
Dr. Bradford Patterson of Barrie, Ontario died November 6th in the 95th year of his age. Dr. Patterson had practised in Markham, Collingwood and Newmarket. He was one of the oldest freemasons in Canada. During the American Civil War he served as surgeon in the Northern Army.

DR. PATTERSON'S DEATH
Barrie, Nov. 8.-Dr. Bradford Patterson, Barrie's oldest citizen, is dead, at the age of 94 years. He was thrice married, and is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Byrne, of West Virginia, who was with him at his death. Deceased was one of the oldest Freemasons in Carada, and is said to have been presiding master at the Initiation of the late Sir John Macdonald. During the American civil war he served In the northern army surgeon. He practised in Markham. Collingwood and Newmarket, and for the past 30 years resided in Barrie.
