Notes |
- Ted Pritchett, age 83 of Bellingham, passed away December 15, 2009 peacefully at his home, surrounded by love and family. He was born June 3, 1926 in London, Ontario to Leonard & Madeline (Adams) Pritchett. Hockey was a large part of Ted's childhood and he played all the way through medical school. He felt fortunate to work with his father in his medical practice for a year before starting his residency in Vancouver, B.C. where he forged friendships which would last a lifetime. Ted loved his practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Bellingham and had the joy of delivering thousands of babies into the community. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends golfing, playing tennis, waterskiing, sailing, flying, motor-homing, and traveling. He will long be remembered for his compassion, integrity and quiet wisdom. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bernice; son Gregory Pritchett of Lake Tapps, WA; daughter Lynn (David) Thompson and their son Connor, all of Bellingham; sisters June Colvin and Natalie "Nan" Young of Cambridge, Ontario; and brother-in-law Bill (Audrey) Leslie of Kincardine, Ontario. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Whatcom Hospice and Home Attendant Care whose compassion allowed Ted to die as he lived, with grace and dignity. In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate donations to Whatcom Hospice Foundation, 800 E. Chestnut #1-C, Bellingham, WA 98225. The family welcomes notes to the home or you may share memories of Ted online at www.westfordfuneralhome.com At Ted's request, no services will be held.
