  SMILLIE, ALEXANDER BUCHANAN was born at Hensall, Ontario on March 6 , 1880. In 1905 he graduated from the University of Toronto and subsequently took postgraduate work in Great Britain and Australia. The Canadian Medical Association Journal of December 1972 reported that he practiced in Sheffield until 1920, but in 1913 the April 29 issue of the Galt Reporter said he was in Galt, as did the University of Toronto Monthly of October, 1915. He was listed in Galt in 1920, but in 1922 he was in Niagara Falls where he practised until his retirement in 1962. Ten years later, on April 24, 1972 he died at Niagara Falls at 92 years of age. He was survived by his widow, four daughters and a son, Col. Roy A. Smillie, M. D., and a sister, ^r. Jennie Robertson. He also left 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dr. Alexander D.
