- We would direct tbe attention of our readers to the sale of the valuable oil painting and pier glass formerly belonging to Dr J C Taylor to be sold by the Sheriff at Mr Henderson' sale room on King street at eleven o'clock to-day The painting is a fine one, and is said to by Corregio - the subject being the "Tribute Money '

- TAYLOR, J. C. was in Galt in 1858, his name was mentioned on June 8 with reference to an operation performed by Dr, Seagram. On June 28th, he removed nine buckshot pellets from Dr. Koetsch's arm after he had been shot by a demented patient.
On November 24th. there was a notice in the Dumfries Reformer that persons having claims against him were to hand them in for immediate payment.
No further mention has been found.

Court was opened to-day at ten o'clock The first case take up was that of Vannorman w Hamilton \emdash Mr O'Reilly for plaintiff Messrs Martin A Druce for defendant Action of interpleader Mr O'Reilly opened tho case to the jury Some time ago the plaintiff Mr Joseph DeWitt Vannorman with his wife boarded at the Royal Hotel here then kept by Dr J C Taylor. Mr Robert J Hamilton the defendant having an execution against Dr Taylor seized a piano there and hence the present action....
