- TURNER, ALFRED THOMAS [sic] was born in Carlingsford, Ont. on August 25. 1887, and died in Kitchener on November 1, 1943. He married Bertha Whiteside, of Alberta, and they had two sons and three daughters.
He was educated at the public school at Carlingsford, and at the high school at St. Mary's. He attended the University of Western Ontario, putting himself through medical school by playing professional ball. He graduated with honors in 1913 and began to practice at Innisfall, Alberta.
In May 1924 he came to Kitchener to practice. He was interested in municipal affairs, and in sporting events in the community. He was a past president of the K-W Kiwanis Club, a former director of the Granite Club and a member of the Board of Directors of the Westmount Golf and Country Club.
He served as coroner for North Waterloo, and was attending physician at the House of Refuge. During the war he was provincial medical officer of the Corps of Imperial Frontiersmen.

Funeral service for: the. late Dr Alfred T. Turner, announced for tomorrow, has been postponed until Thursday at two o'clock.
The change was made in order to permit Mrs. Turner's father. J Whiteside, who is coming from Calgary, to reach the city in time, Dr. Turner, well. known Frederick Street resident, died yesterday. The funeral service will be held at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home,.
