  Joseph W. Rau, 81, a resident of Santa Cruz for the past 24 years, died Tuesday in a local hospital after a brief illness. A retired chiropractor, Mr. Rau resided at 144 Mornssey boulevard with his wife, Agnes, who survives him. A native of Canada, Mr. Rau came to Santa Cruz from Modesto. Private services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Ferguson mortuary chapel, with the Rev. Dale W. Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood, Memorial park.
