    • FOERSTER, Mary (Mrs. Joseph A.) - Peacefully, with her family by her side, on Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Mary (Doak) Forster, in her 82nd year, of Elmira.

      Beloved wife and best friend of Joseph A. Foerster for 58 years. Loving mother of Ann Kurt of Kitchener, Scott and Bonnie Forster of Elmira, Mary Lynn Forster of Branchton. Also lovingly remembered by her granddaughter, Jennifer (Jason) Rolson and her great-grandson, Adam. Sister of Betty and Hugh Tierney, Alec and Margaret Doak, all of England.

      Predeceased by her parents, John and Annie Doak; six brothers and sisters.

      Mary came to Canada as a war bride in 1946 from her native Scotland. Mary was a longtime and active member of the Elmira Legion Branch No.469 Ladies Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Elmira Curling Club.

      At Mary's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral home visitation. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 14, at Gale Presbyterian Church, Cross St., Elmira, at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Dr. Linda J. Bell officiating.

      In her memory, donations to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or the Hospital For Sick Children, would be appreciated by the family, as expressions of sympathy and may be obtained by calling Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, 669-2207.
