    • Edward A. Cookman of Dorking died April 1 at Wellington Home, RR 1, Fergus, after a brief illness he was 89.

      Mr. Cookman was born near Glennallan and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Cookman. He was a member of the United Church. He had lived at RR 1, Fergus, for the past 4 years

      Surviving are one son, Angus of London; three daughters, Mrs. John (Rose) Fleet of Palmerston, Mrs Earl (May) Israel of Bloomingdale and Mrs. Herbert (Beatrice) Bast of Newton; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Margaret Gooding, and two sons, one daughter, four sisters and three Brothers.

      The body was at Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira. The service was held in the Funeral Chapel April 4th. Burial was in Elmira Cemetery. Reverend Amsey Martin officiated.
