- Lillian Bebenek Takes Vows With U.S. Navy Man
In St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Sunnyside, on Saturday, vows were exchanged by Miss Lillian Bebenek, daughter of Mrs. Anne Bebenek, Sunnyside, and the" late. Peter Bebenek, and Franklin (Bud) Conhiser, petty officer first class, United States Navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. I. Conhiser, Vancouver. The ceremony was performed by Rev. A. J. Datars.
Organist for the wedding music was Mrs. A. J. Datars. Miss Alfreda Slabodzian of Kitchener, soloist, sang "O Perfect Love."
Mr. Walter Bebenek gave his sister in marriage. She was wearing a floor length white satin gown designed with sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. Her gloves were of white net and her veil fell in soft folds to the floor from a sweetheart headdress. She wore pearls and carried a bouquet of forget-me-not roses and pink chrysanthemums.
Attending her as bridesmaid was Miss Laurine Howald of Kitchener. She chose a formal gown of yellow net and a sweetheart headdress with shoulder-length veil. For ornament, she wore a pendant, gift of the bride, and carried a bouquet of pink chrysanthemums.
Mr. Rudolph Bebenek, brother of the bride, served as best man. Ushering were Messrs. William Bebenek, another brother, and Clinton Osier of Kitchener. Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to 40 guests at the bride's home with a reception in the evening. Receiving with the bride and bridegroom was the bride's mother, wearing navy crepe ensemble with corsage of white carnations. Assisting was the bride's sister-in-law, Mrs. William Bebenek.
The bride's travelling ensemble for a trip to Vancouver was an ice blue gabardine suit, black topcoat and black accessories. Petty Officer and Mrs. Conhiser will reside in the United States.
