A STRANGE AND TRAGIC BRIDAL IN WESTERN ONTARIO

A Short Time After the Ceremony the Husbanding Passed Away in his Wife's - He was Dead Within Two Hours After the Union was Solemnized

Toronto, Oct. 22.-Seymour Cotton, a young Englishman, 25 years of age, died a at Sheffield, Waterloo county, Monday, two hours after he had been married to Miss Lizzie Studiman, his sweetheart.

Until two days before his marriage he had been in the best of health. He had been at Rockton Fair with his fiancee, and both were looking forward to the wedding. Cotton had made his home for some years with Mrs. Studiman, the mother of the bride. Last Friday he complained of feeling ill, and a physician was summoned, who told him he was suffering from appendicitis. On Saturday he was worse and Miss Studiman decided that if he was to die she would like him to pass into the great beyond as her husband. A minister-Rev. Mr. Culp-was sent for and Saturday evening at six o'clock the dying man and the weeping girl vowed to love each other until death parted them. In two short hours the final parting took place. Two Galt physicians arrived a short while after the marriage to perform an operation, but the bridegroom was too weak for such a measure. He passed away in the arms of his newly wedded wife about eight o'clock. Intense sympathy was aroused throughout the district, and the funeral was very largely attended.

He has been in this country for several years and for some time has been employed with farmers in Beverly being at the time of his death employed with with Mr. Wm. Wallace near Branchton. He made his home usually with Mrs. Studiman. The young man had attended Rockton fair on Wednesday and was apparently in the best of health. On Friday be complained of feeling ill and on Saturday a physician was summoned who found him suffering from appendicitis. Saturday about six o'clock he was married to Miss Lizzie Studiman to whom he had been paying attention for some time. The Rev. Mr. Culp performed the ceremony.
