    • LOTT, Dr. James Stewart
      Saturday, March 25, Dr. James Stewart Lott, B.Sc., M.D., D.M.R.T.(Eng), F.R.C.P.(C), died in his 75th year, at Kingston General Hospital, Dr. Lott was an outstanding Alumnus of the University of Western Ontario, graduating from the Faculty of Medicine, Class of 1946. From 1946-1952, he undertook intensive post graduate work Histology, Pathology and Radiotherapy. In 1950, he was awarded a travelling fellowship by The British Empire Cancer Campaign to cover two years of advanced study at The Holt Radium Institute in Manchester, England. In 1952, Dr. Lott began active practice at the Cancer Clinic at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. He retired in 1985 as Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Queen's University, a position he had held since 1971. He assumed the headship following a prestigious appointment as Head of the Division of Radiation Therapy at Johns Hopkins University Medical School and Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. While at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Lott's work broke new in teaching and research in the field of Radiation Oncology. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, daughter Jane Lott and husband Donald Harben of Mississauga and grandchildren Caitlin and Evan; daughter Susan Lott of Ottawa; daughter Ann Seedhouse and her husband Stuart of Whitby and grandchildren Jeffrey, Steven and Ellen; son John Lott and fiance Cathryn Jarvis of Kingston. predeceased by sister Barbara Jean and parents Mr. and Mrs. E.O. Lott. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Providence Manor for their kindness and support. A Funeral Service with reception will be held at the James Reid Funeral Home, Cataraqui Chapel, Counter Street Highway #2, on Thursday, March 30th at 1:30 p.m. Cremation to follow with Interment in Elmira Union Cemetery.
