      (WW II Veteran, formerly of Waterloo and long time employee of Kitchener-Waterloo Record)

      Ward passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket following a brief illness. Ward is survived by his wife Shirley and his sons Craig of Vancouver, and Gavin and his wife Chrisa and their children Braedon and Connor of Markham.

      His daughter Gayle Manning and her husband John and their children, Ian, and Andrea Bourke husband Chris and the latest joy in his life was the birth of his great-granddaughter Lillianne of Newmarket.

      "When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me
      I want no filled rites in a gloom room, why cry for a soul set free."

      Cremation has taken place. A private family service will place at a later date.
