      Linwood, March 14 - The late Mr. John Gerth who died at his home here on Saturday, March 12 at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 25 days had been in failing health for two years, but in the end death came suddenly. He was born in Wellesley Township on a farm one mile east of Linwood. He was predeceased by his wife Anna Marie Merlau and is survived by two daughters and three sons, Valentine of Elmira, Henry of Waterloo and Manual of Linwood. One daughter predeceased him one year ago. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, March 15 from his late residence. Interment will be made in the Lutheran Cemetery, Rev. W. Schultz will be in charge.
