    • A. P. DAMMEIER was born in the year 1860 on Lot 6, Concession 14, eastern section of Wellesley Township, where he is still living. His father was one of the pioneers coming from the vicinity of Hespeler and located on the farm now occupied by his son in the early forties, hewing out a home for himself and family in what was then a vast wilderness. Mr. Dammeier was first elected to the Township Council in 1904, and has since discharged the duties appertaining thereto very satisfactorily.

      LINWOOD, July 3.-Ailing for almost a year due to a stroke, August Philip Dammeier, age 74 years, Wellesley township, passed away Sunday morning at his home. Mr. Dammeier, who farmed all his life in Wellesley township, was deputy reeve for three years and councillor for three years in the county council, representing Wellesley township. He was a member of Linwood Lutheran Church and held the position of trustee for 30 years. During his tenure the present church was built.

      Surviving are two sons and two daughters, William A., of Bamberg, Alvin N., at home, Clara, Mrs. Menno Schlueter, Emma, Mrs. John Hoffman, near Crosshill, and one sister, Mrs. Menno Snider. Eleven grandchildren and 2 great grand-children also survive.

      Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon from his late home at 2 o'clock and thence to the Linwood Lutheran Church for services at 2.30 p.m. Interment will take place in Linwood Cemetery. Rev. Wm. Schultz will be in charge of the services.
