- Alvin Dammeier, 65, of RR 3 Wallenstein died Thursday, November 6 at Likeholme Nursing Home, St. Jacobs, after a lengthy illness. He farmed most of his lifetime in the Wallenstein area where he was born He was born June 27, 1893, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Dammeier. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood. His wife, the former Arabella Sattler, died Oct. 18, 1946. They were married in 1919 at Heidelberg. Surviving are a son, Earl of RR 3, Wallenstein; a brother, William of Wellesley; a sister, Mrs. John (Emma) Hoffman of Wellesley and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Clara Schlueter. The body rested at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 3 p.m., Saturday, then at the home until 12: 30 p.m. Sunday when removal was made to St. Peter's Church, Linwood. The funeral was conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Virgil Anderson officiating. Burial was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Linwood.
