Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital, Freeport Centre on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the age of 89.
Loving father of Gary (Debbie), Guy (Julie), and Glen.
Papa Stu will be missed by Stephen Burkholder, Ryan (Amanda) Burkholder, Andrea (Mike) Thornton, Lyndsay (Patrick) O'Halloran, Michael Burkholder, Justin (Ash) Burkholder, Matthew (Kendra) Burkholder, Max Burkholder and Hannah Burkholder.
Missed by his great-grandchildren Jackson, Emily, Aryana, Ryker, Lincoln, Julia, Harrison, Parker, Rhett, Leighton and Avi.
Survived by his brothers, Ted (Diane) Burkholder and Chuck (Doris) Burkholder and fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered and missed by his friend Carole Beland, and the Crowther Family.
Predeceased by his first wife Shirley and second wife Marnie, his parents, Stewart and Isobel, and his siblings Betty (Carl) Pisorski, Shirley (George) Rothwell and Donna (Ted) Johnson.
He will be remembered for his love of the Maple Leafs, playing golf / hockey and taking his annual road trip with his sons to South Bend to enjoy watching the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football games.
A special thankyou to the team at Freeport Hospital for their compassionate care of Stu.
Due to restrictions, the Burkholder family will celebrate Stu's life privately.
