    • DEATH OF MRS. ELIZA DATE.

      A FORMER RESIDENT OF BERLIN

      Passes to Rest in Minnesota.

Mrs. W. H. Bowman, Queen Street, received a telegram this morning announcing the death of her Mother, Mrs. Eliza Date, in Rochester, Minn., on Wednesday evening last. The message was a shock to Mr. and Mrs. Bowman and family, though they knew of Mrs. Date's illness for some time past, they little thought her death would result there from and it was the intention of Mrs. Bowman to go to her bedside should her indisposition take on an acute form. The deceased lady, and her husband formerly resided in Berlin, and she is well remembered for her many acts of kindness and charity. Especially was she ever ready to administer to those in sickness. Her tender hand relieved many an aching brow and her memory will not be soon forgotten by her many friends and admirers in Berlin.

Mrs. Date was buried this afternoon in her Western home and she had reached the good old age of Seventy-eight years. She leaves seven children to mourn her departure. John and Frederick Date, in Seattle; William, in Colorado; Samuel in Rochester, Minn.; Mrs. Zeigler in Grand Fords, Dakota; Mrs. Hendee, St. Charles, Minn; and Mrs. W. H. Bowman of Berlin.

The Berlin Daily Telegraph - April 14, 1893
