    • DIEFENBAKER, Ray Passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Shirley. Loving father of Scott (Jola), and Neal (Susan). Cherished grandfather of Mark, Erica, Trevor and Shelby. Dear brother of Erma. Predeceased by his parents, Eli and Esther, and his sister Florence. Ray served with honour with the Royal Canadian Regiment during WWII. He was a 43 year employee of Electrohome and member of the Electrohome 25 year club. He was a proud member of Branch 50 of The Royal Canadian Legion and member of Trinity United Church. In Ray's retirement, he enjoyed his travelling, ice skating and working in his gardens. He was a member of The Disappointed Maple Leafs and Bluejays Fan Club. Cremation has taken place. At Ray's request a reception to celebrate his life will take place at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. The family would like to send a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and support workers for their exceptional care and support during Ray's illness. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation or the Leukemia Research Fund would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
