      LINWOOD - Moses Stever, 70, of Linwood, a noted horseman, died Friday at the K-W Hospital after a short illness. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Stever, he was born in the Linwood district where he spent his entire life. He farmed at RR 1, Linwood, and retired in November, 1960.

      He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church here and served as secretary of the Wellesley School Board, SS 3, for more than 20 years. He also was a delegate to synod for the Lutheran Church for several years.

      His marriage to the former Frieda Hahn took place in 1917. She survives.

      Other survivors are six daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Norma) Koch of Gadshill, Mrs. Alfred (Luella) Schenk of Virginia, Mrs. Wilfred (Bernice) Kneisel, and Margaret, both of Waterloo, Mrs. Frank (Merlene) Cerniuk of Guelph and Mrs. William (Irene) Irving of Kitchener, four sons, Frederick of Stayner, Clayton and Murray of Linwood and Clarence of New Hamburg; five sisters, Mrs. Clarence Gies, Mrs. Minnie Ament, Mrs. Lydia Daniels, Mrs. Henry Gerth, all of Kitchener, Mrs. Margaret Eiche of Waterloo; a brother Emmanuel of Mannheim and 16 grandchildren. The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Tuesday at 1 p.m. when removal will be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church for memorial service at 4 p.m. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. A.L. Wedman will officiate.
