- HUMMEL, Patrick Charles - March 17, 1928 - January 23, 2012 Peacefully at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend Isabelle (nee Liddle) of 62 years and beloved family Brad (Zenny), Cynthia (Ralph), seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Born in Kitchener, Ontario to Charles and Irene Hummel. Survived by his sister Avis Onn (late Philip), brother Wilfred (Kay), sisters-in-law Dorothy Hummel and Betty Watt (late Hugh) and brothers-in-law Jack Liddle (Bernice) and Frank Liddle (late Fern). Predeceased by sister Marjorie McDonald, brother Cecil and sister-in-law Jane White. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. A consummate gentleman, Patrick was an avid boater, curler and golfer and was an active board member on several committees at his place of residence. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Drs. Kwan and Hung and nurses for their wonderful care and support. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10. N. of the QEW), on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held to celebrate his life at St. Mary Star of the Sea, 11 Peter St., Mississauga, at Lakeshore Rd., on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Trillium Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated.
