  Jas. Hammond, Farmer, Church Officer, passes Crosshill \endash James Hammond, passed away early Thursday following a lingering illness. In his 73rd year, Mr. Hammond was born on the 3rd line of Wellesley, near Kingwood, and was a son of the late William Hammond and Margaret Livingston. Deceased moved to Crosshill with his parents in 1888 and lived here until his death. Unmarried, Mr. Hammond was a member of Boyd United Church, for which he served as secretary-treasurer for a number of years. He was also secretary-treasurer for the Canadian Order of Foresters for several years. He is survived by one brother John of Crosshill. The funeral will be held Saturday with a private service at the home of his brother at 1:30, and a public service at Boyd United Church at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made at Rush's Cemetery.
