  After an illness of about three weeks, from heart trouble, there passed away at his home in Elmira, on Saturday last, an aged citizen in the person of Francis Xavier Logel. Deceased retired from his farm near Dorking to Elmira about 4 years ago. Here he lived with his aged partner and two daughters a quite simple life, a genial, honest neighbor, a kind husband and father. He leaves a sorrowing widow and ten children, his oldest daughter, Mrs. Linseman, having died a short time ago. Those remaining are: Mrs. A. Voisin, of Peel; Frank, of Manitoba; Mrs. Wm. Leyes, Mishawaka, Ind.; Mrs. Starr, Peel T'p; Mrs. Dogherty, Wellesley Tp; Miss Emma, at home; Charles, George and John, Wellesley T'p; Miss Bird, at home. The remains were interred at Macton on Tuesday afternoon. A large number of friends and neighbors attended the funeral; among them were his sister, Mrs. Schaaf, of Buffalo, and her daughter, and County Councillor F. Walter and wife, of Bamberg. Deceased was a native of Alsace, Germany, and had reached the age of 74 years, 7 months and 22 days. Elmira Signet 3 Nov 1904
