Fatal Accident
A deplorable accident occurred on Friday night last by which Mr. Carlton Lundy of Lintrathen lost his life. Mr. Lundy had been to Morden on business and started for home about the middle of the afternoon. At Nelson he remained over until about dusk, leaving there about six o'clock. It is supposed that in the dark he took the wrong road, and that after driving a mile or two, his horses took fright and ran away. Mr Lundy had an empty packing case in the wagon, and presumably the shock of the running horses threw him back into this box, immediately after which the wagon tongue dropped and stuck into the ground, throwing out the packing case with the unfortunate man in it, and pinning the wagon box on top of both. This happened west of Mr. Ross Foster's house, the melancholy accident was first discovered by Mr. Wyatt Duncan who was on his way to Nelson to attend a threshing. At that time life had been long extinct and the position of the dead man was as above stated. About three feet was broken off the wagon tongue. The horses were found a short distance off, entangled in the lines. Dr. Robert Wilson, Coroner, was notified, and immediately attended, but on inquiry did not deem an inquest necessary. From the marks on the deceased's man's head, it is probable that he was instantly killed. The body was removed home on Sunday, and on Monday was escorted to the grave by a large company of sympathizing neighbors. Deceased was a brother of our esteemed townsman, G.T. Lundy, of the Queen's Hotel, and C.R. Lundy, photographer.

Town and Country
Mr. C.R. Lundy, photographer, has succeeded in taking an excellent picture of the town from the top of McBean's elevator. The point of view was not a first rate one and in order to get the whole town Mr. Lundy had had to take the cabinet plates, thus making the complete picture almost three feet in breadth. No doubt many of our citizens will purchase copies for framing purposes.
