- Benjamin Shoemaker, "was born January 21st, 1838. On February 23rd, 1864, he was married to Polly Shantz who was born January 16th, 1840, and died June 5th, 1890. Soon after their marriage they moved on his father's old homestead where he still resides. Here they raised a family of four children"
