    • MERLE JONES 1918 - 2005 Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

      Anna Merle Jones (Paff) of Waterloo entered into rest on Friday, September 16, 2005, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Merle was born in Stratford on October 13, 1918. Predeceased by parents John and Lydia Paff, husband Paul Jones, sister Alice Watkinson, brothers-in-law Park Winkler, Bob Watkinson, Dave Jones and Russell Warris, and sisters-in-law Ruth McCallum and Esther Osborn. Survived by son Stephen Arthur Jones, daughter-in-law Wendy Lee Stocker, sisters Betty Winkler and Helen Warris, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A hearty thanks to Drs. Kugler, Maurice, Kilmurray and Stewart, the staff of Victoria Place, and the nurses on 6 North and 5 North at Grand River Hospital for their compassionate care. Sincere thanks also to CCAC for practical assistance. Visitation at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday, September 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Merle's life and legacy will take place at First United Church, corner of King St. and William St. in Waterloo, on Monday, September 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Hawley officiating. (Parking is available at the funeral home, one block south of the church). A reception for family and friends will be held in Hilliard Hall at the church following the service. Interment in South Easthope United Church Cemetery will follow the reception. Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region or a charity of choice. I have fought the good fight, I have Finished the race, I have kept the faith.
