- Jacob Martin, "was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, March 22nd, 1811, and came to Canada with his parent when nine years of age. On April 14th, 1835, he was married to Esther, daughter of Henry and Maria (Mosser) Baumann. She was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, April 17th, 1817, and came to Canada with her parents in 1825. Soon after their marriage they moved on the farm on which his father had settled in June, 1820. Here they resided until his death which took place April 10th, 1889. The farm is now in possession of his son, Joseph B. The family consisted of thirteen children"
