  CONRAD MERLAU (By Record Correspondent) WELLESLEY, March 24-The death of Conrad Merlau, aged Wellesley resident, occurred yesterday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emil Stroh. He was born in Germany on Nov. 24, 1844 and was therefore 89 years old. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Stroh of Wellesley and one sister. Mrs. John Gerth of Linwood. The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon from the house where a private service will be held to St. Paul's Lutheran church at two o'clock and thence to the North Easthope cemetery for interment. Rev. J. Hamester will be in charge of the services. Kitchener Daily Record 23 Mar 1933 pg 17 ___________ Oldest Citizen Dies. Mr. Conrad Merlau, the oldest citizen of our town, passed away last Thursday afternoon, quite unexpectedly, after a short illness. He was 89 years of age.
