  George Lichty Wellesley - A well-known citizen of this village, George Lichty, 59, died Tuesday following a long illness. Mr. Lichty was born on a farm in Wellesley township, March 11, 1880, and had lived in this district all his life. He was a contractor for many years. A member of St. Paul's Missouri Lutheran church, he officiated as secretary of the church board. He is survived by his wife, the former Bertha Underwood, two sons, Austin of Preston and Lloyd at home, one daughter, Esther at home, two brothers, Theodore and Jonathan, both of Wellesley and two sisters, Mrs. Harry Faber and Mrs. George Faber of Tavistock. One brother, Levi, predeceased him. A private funeral service for George Lichty, who died Tuesday, will be held at the home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock to be followed by a public service at St. Paul's Missouri Lutheran Church. The services will be conducted by Rev. C. A. Kramer. Burial will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church. The Waterloo Chronicle May 5 1939 pg 3
