- Mr. Valentine Wagner, whose serious illness was reported in the Leaf a couple of weeks ago, passed away at his home in this village on Tuesday morning Feb. 27th at the advanced age of 82 years and one month. He came to this country in 1841 from Hesse, Germany, and moved onto a farm north of Wellesley, in 1850, where he resided until about six years ago when he retired to Wellesley. In 1847 he was married to Ann Elizabeth Borscht, who survives him. To them was born five children, of whom two are living, Elizabeth and Amelia, both at home. He is also survived by three brothers, John, Conrad and Bartholomew Wagner of Wellesley. The funeral will take place on Friday afternoon, to the Canada Lutheran cemetery, services will be held in the church by the pastor, Rev. Holm.
