    • Francis W. Cosens, 8th child of Charles and Ann Cosens, was born in Surrey, England, and came to Canada with his father's family at age 11, settling in Waterloo. At age 18, he joined the Baptist Church, but changed to the Methodist Church c. 3 years later. He married Mary Kilbourn, and moved with her c. 6 years ago from Blenheim to St. George. Last May , he was seized with his fatal malady, which was induced by inhaling the effluvium of lead in painting, and died, Sept. 4, 1867 survived by his wife and 3 children.
