      Death of Mrs. Charles Miller

      A much esteemed old lady who had long been a resident of Hanover passed away at midnight on. Saturday last at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 20 days. Death was due to a general breakdown. She was born in the County of Waterloo and was married to the late Charles Miller in her early twenties. Her maiden name was Leah Swartz. After their marriage they moved to the township of Brant and later on to Bentinek, having lived retired in Hanover for some time. A family of 14 children blessed their union, 6 daughters and 5 sons still surviv- ing as follows: Louisa (Mrs. B.. P. MeNeil) of Toffield, Alta.; Mary (Mrs. J. B. Hodges) of Dryden, Mich.: Salome (Mrs. Stephen Eby) of Woodstock, III.; Amelia (Mrs. Wm. Finnigen) of Sedgewick, Alta.; Fanny (Mrs. Sol. Hillgartner) of Bentinck; Lizzie (Mrs. H. Bohms), Jacob, William, John, Charles and Simon all living in the vicinity of Hanover. Two brothers, Rev, S. H. Swartz and Abe of Kitchener, and two sisters, Mrs. Aaron Devitt of Winnipeg and Mrs. Wm. Liebler of Brown City, Mich., also survive. Deceased was a member of the Hanover Evangelical Church. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon to the Hanover cemetery. Rev. Mr. Becker had charge of the services at the house and grave. feb. 29, 1924
