  The Late John Hardy Death has again visited the Winterbourne neighborhood and taken away one of its most highly respected and well known residents in the person of Mr. John Hardy, who passed away on Friday morning, December 13th, 1918. Deceased, who only a month previous was taken ill with inflammatory rheumatism, had reached the age of 64 years, 3 months and 11 days. He was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church for a number of years. His kindly greeting will be much missed in the community. He leaves his widow, two sons and two daughters: Wilbur, of Winterbourne, Arthur in France; Bessie at home, and Margaret, in Toronto, who have the deepest sympathy of all in their bereavement. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon to the Presbyterian cemetery, and was largely attended, manifesting the esteem in which Mr. Hardy was held. Rev. Mr. Bruce conducted the services both at the house and grave. The pallbearers were: Messrs. Walter Veitch, Wm. Sheriffs, sr., James Mitchell, of Winterbourne; Frank Harris, of Toronto; Harry Hosking, of Palmerston; Arthur Tyson, of Guelph. Elmira Signet Jan 2 1919
