      A lifelong resident of Galt and district, John Letson, 79, of 104 Water St., Galt, died on Friday, at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital. Deceased, a carpenter by vocation, was born in Winterbourne Ontario. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Eckenswiller, four daughters; Janet (Mrs. Basil Johnson) of Galt, Ruth (Mrs. Hugh Guthrie) of Ayr, Isabel (Mrs. Percy Pinell) of Dundalk; Helen (Mrs. Haney McCloy) of Galt, four sons; Harvey, Leonard, Byron and Russell Letson, all of Galt; a brother, Irvin Letson, of Galt; seven sisters, Alice (Mrs. William Hammer) Kitchener: Vera (Mrs. C. Cross) of Galt; Winnie (Mrs. Gesinghaus) of Waterloo; Margaret, (Mrs. Otto Kurtz) of Brantford; Mary (Mrs. Jonas) of Kitchener; Catharine, (Mrs. Napoleon) of Waterloo; Cora (Mrs. George Evans) of Toronto. Nineteen grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, also survive. His first wife, Isabella Cress, predeceased about 20 years ago. Two brothers, Joseph and Walter, also predeceased. The late Mr. Letson is resting at the funeral home of Coutts and Son, 96 St. Andrews St., Galt, for service on Monday, at 3.30 p.m. Rev. W. M. MacDonald, will officiate. Interment, will be in Mount View cemetery, Galt.
