  Services Held for Former Resident. Mrs. Selda Schlichter, 87, passed away February 6 at the home of her son, LeRoy, in Detroit. Selda Swart [Schwartz] was born April 29, 1871 in Lapeer County, and married Simeon Schlichter in 1889. They resided in Lapeer County until 1909 when they came to Gladwin and farmed in Gladwin Township until 1923, when they moved to Detroit. Mr. Schlichter died in 1927. Surviving are two sons, Leroy and Orville, both of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Olive Vanest of Gladwin and Miss Effie Schlichter of Detroit; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb 10, from Miner's Funeral Home with the Rev. Everett Love officiating and burial was in Ridge Cemetery. Gladwin Record: 2/11/1959 p1c6
