    • Mary Reist, "the eldest daughter of David and Mary Reist, was born December 26th, 1840. On November 4th, 1860, she was married to Daniel S., son of Benjamin and Catharine (Saltzberger) Snyder."

      After years of suffering, patiently endured, the wife of Mr. Dan. S. Snider, who lives about 3 ½ miles south-east of Elmira, passed away on Monday. She was a daughter of the late David Reist and was highly respected by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her loss a sorrowing husband and seven children, five sons and two daughters. Several children predeceased her. Her remains were interred in the Mennonite Cemetery at Bloomingdale yesterday (Wednesday) forenoon. The funeral was largely attended.
