      ST JACOBS, Nov. 16 - Henry Ritter, prominent resident of St Jacobs, died suddenly at the K-W Hospital last night at the age of 82 years.

      Mr. Ritter was born in the Township of Woolwich where he resided until 23 years ago when he retired to St. Jacobs after a successful farming career. He served on the St. Jacobs Council for many years

      In 1887 he married Philipina Mattusch. From this marriage four sons and two daughters survive. They are Edward, Gordon, Peter and Miton Ritter, Mrs. Henry (Clara) Stroh and Mrs. Russel V. (Wilma) Hahn, all of St. Jacobs, 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

      His wife predeceased him 17 years ago. In 1938 he married Olive E Walker of Kingston who survives with two sisters, Mrs. Adam Mattusch, Elmira, and Mrs. Menno Koch, Winterbourne, and two brothers, Daniel of Hawkesville and Jac- ob of St. Jacobs. Four brothers and two sisters predeceased him.

      Mr. Ritter was a lifelong member of St James' Lutheran Church

      The funeral will be held Sunday with private service at the residence at 2 o'clock, followed by public service at St. James' Lutheran Church. Rev. S. J. Wittig will conduct the services. The remains will rest at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor. Elmira, until Saturday morning at 10 o'clock when removal will be made to the residence at St. Jacobs
