  Gone fishing forever, on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Pinehaven Nursing Home, Waterloo, Russell Schlitt, in his 84th year, of St. Jacobs. Beloved husband of Violet (Kreller) Schlitt for 56 years. Loving and devoted father of Pam and Grant Snyder of St. Jacobs, John and Anne Schlitt of Waterloo, Steve and Kim Schlitt of Kitchener, Jeff Schlitt and Barb Lane of Cambridge. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Amanda Snyder (Anderson) and Emily Snyder, Dallas and Adam Schlitt, Derek, Trevor and Rebecca Schlitt, and Carter Schlitt; and one great-grandson, Gavin. Dear brother of Phyllis Bignell of Kitchener, and Lorna and Bill McCabe of Burlington. Predeceased by his parents, Lorne and Salema Schlitt. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Friday, February 27, 2009 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 12 noon on Saturday, transfer will be made to St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs for funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold Brill officiating. Interment St. James Lutheran Cemetery, St. Jacobs.
