- THE LATE REV. H. DIERLAMM
On Wednesday last the remains of Rev. H. Dierlamm found their last resting place in the Evangelical church yard. sixth line Wailace. The Henry Dierlamm died in Elkton Mich.. at the age of 67 years. 4 months and 28 days. He came to Canada from Germany with his parents in the year 1854. They settled near New Hamburg. He served in the Evangelical Conference of Canada for 39 vears and retired two years ago when he felt signs of declining health.
Rev. H. Dierlamm was a strong and powerful speaker whose words sunk well into the heart of his congregation and drew many to the light life. He was a dear and devoted student of God's Word, and a kind and sympathetic pastor. Truly he seemed to know that the flesh of man is weak. His presence often inspired and comforted those who were struggling with the difficulties of life. While in Elkton he often supplied the pulpit and as often had received urgent calls to take up active work in the conference there and would doubtless have done so but his health did not permit of it.
He leaves a widow. nine children. two sisters and three brothers mourn his loss and to them we extend our deepest sympathy yet we cannot help thinking that they should find error in the thought that he as done his duty and is not dead.

Here he was sent as the first missionary in 1880, where he met many trails and hardships. But his work was not in vain as through his efforts one Swiss family was converted and three of their sons are now prominent men in the ministry. He also labored at Ottawa under great hardships. there were no railways to go to the different appointments, he had to travel by canoe on the lakes and ride most of the time on horseback He also had charge of the following places: - Zurich, Waterloo, Wallace, St. Jacobs, Milverton, Chesley, Port Elgin, and North Easthope, after which he superannuated and moved to Elkton, Mich.
