    • The Fire Record.

      ST. JACOB'S, Ont., June 25. This afternoon a fire broke out in the stable owned by Jacob Webber, which in a very short time was completely consumed with contents. The flying shingles set fire to Eckhart Seiling's large barn across the street, formerly used as hotel stables, completely destroying the same, together with nine hogs. At one time half a dozen or more dwelling houses were in great danger, and the Elmira fire brigade was telephoned for, which responded promptly, arriving in about forty minutes from a distance of four miles, and rendering good service. Seiling's barn was insured for $100. Mr. Weber has no insurance. The fire is supposed to have originated from boys playing with matches.
