    • THE BOY HAS NO MOTHER.

Fred Hull, the young lad from Galt who is charged with horse stealing, received his trial before Judge Chisholm this forenoon. Young Hull is not so young in mischief as he should be considering his years, as he had spent two years in the Industrial School at Mimico, at the expense of the Town of Galt, which paid $100 while he was there. The authorities say they can do nothing with him, as he has frequently taken rigs from hotel sheds and driven to Preston, or around the town. The present indictment against the lad is that on Nov. 19th he stole a horse and buggy belonging to Gavin Goodall, and a whip as well.

Young Hull is only 12 years old, and small for his age. His eyes have a peculiar shifting expression. He pleaded not guilty to the charge in a firm voice. Crown Attorney W.H. Bowlby prosecuted, and C. Bitzer defended the juvenile prisoner.
