  Bishop George Shupe, "was born December 25th, 1788. He was married to Elizabeth Scheirich who was born May 26th, 1795, and died June 21st, 1866. They resided in Wilmot Township, near New Dundee, where he died April 29th, 1870. To them was born a family of six children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
