- A-1-28 John Mitchell: Letters of Administration to the estate of John Mitchell, formerly of the Township of North Dumfries, granted and issued in favour of his widow Janet Mitchel, she having made petition to the purpose and given proof that her said husband hath died intestate, and also given bond and surety to the amount of five hundred pounds for her due administration of said estate, her sureties being James W. Walker, of said North Dumfries, Yeoman, and Murdo McRae, of the Township of South Dumfries, in the County of Brant, Yeoman, the same being granted and issued the third day of March one thousand eight hundred and fifty four. Amount of inventory five hundred and fourteen pounds.

A-1-146 John Mitchell Letters of Administration (de bonis nous) of the estate of John Mitchell of the Township of Dumfries, Yeoman, deceased, left unadministrated by Janet Mitchell (widow of said John Mitchell) former Administratrix…to Hugh Mitchell of North Dumfries, aforesaid, Yeoman, (the Father of said deceased) upon him giving proof that the said deceased died intestate on or about the 30th day of October 1853 (and also that the said Janet Mitchell, former Administratrix - is dead) upon him giving a bond with security, for the due Administration of such estate himself, and two sureties in the person of James Sharp and Charles McArthur, both of the Township of South Dumfries, in the County of Brant, Yeomen, each in the sum of six hundred pounds, the said Hugh Mitchell having made oath that the personal estate of the said deceased, left unadministered, is about the value of $125.
