    • Samuel M. Bird

      Samuel M. Bird, 85 of 93 Seagram Drive, Waterloo, formerly of Elmira, died Wednesday at K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in North Woolwich Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob. Mr. Bird farmed on the homestead in North Woolwich Township until 1946 when he and his wife retired to Elmira. For the past year he lived at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nelson (Norma) Gerth. He was a member of the North Woolwich Evangelical Church.

      Surviving besides his wife, the former Laura Beisel, are a son, Donald, Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. Gerth and Mrs. C. W. Ramona McWatt, Glencoe; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters. The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until noon Friday when removal will be made to Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church for service at 2 p.m. Rev. M. E. Reuber will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmira Cemetery.
