Notes |
- Frances A. Shupe, eldest child of William and Nancy Shupe, was born near Owen Sound, Canada, March 21, 1849, and departed this life September 23, 1921. When a young child she removed with her parents to Decorah, Iowa, thence to Fillmore County, Minnesota, and later to McIntire, where she met and married Daniel W. Kaiser, of Lime Springs. They spent the better part of their life at McIntire, later removing to Jamestown, North Dakota, where they remained about ten years. From there they removed to Puyallup, Washington, where the deceased met with a great sorrow in the loss of her husband. After returning to McIntire she made her home for a time with her brother, George A. Shupe and family, and with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Sanders, of Fayette, in whose home she remained over two years. On the 12th day of August, 1920, she married Henry Farnam, of Forestburg, South Dakota, from which place her spirit took its flight to the God who gave it. Early in life she felt the need of her Saviour. She was baptised in the faith and united with the Baptist church of McIntire, of which denomination she remained a faithful member. Funeral services were conducted in South Dakota and in Iowa. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Bodenham, from the Baptist church at McIntire, after which the body was laid to rest beside her loved ones on the family lot in the McIntire cemetery."
